1.
If a bat costs more than $100 be very suspicious.
Most expensive bats are multi-wall. There
are a few very good singlewall bats around
$100.
2. Check on the bat or description for the
"alloy" number. If it's in the
400's, 500's, 600's or 700's, it is most
likely multi-wall. Usually a CU-31 alloy
is singlewall. (THERE ARE IMPORTANT EXCEPTIONS
TO THIS RULE BELOW.)
3.
Most "composite" bats are multi-wall.
EXCEPTIONS: Worth makes a
line of multi-wall bats call "Quad."
This year they have added a singlewall bat
to that line, the QSW11. It says Quad Singlewall
on the bat and sells for about $100-$125.
If it doesn't say singlewall on the bat,
it's the wrong one.
Louisville Slugger has a line of
composite bats called "Genesis"
and "GenX". One of them called
the "XXL" (model SB37) says CU31
on it and sells for $115. BUT, BEWARE...THIS
IS A MULTI-WALL BAT!
Unless you have an old "connextion"
gold bat from the first year Easton made
them, they are Multi-wall. It will not say
this on the bat...but they are.
*This
list is a guideline for the LEGAL bats
acceptable within our league. It is not
a definitive, comprehensive list. There
are various bats, legal and illegal that
do not appear here. Some are older bats,
before bats were evaluated and listed.
Others are too new for this list. Please
shop carefully and check for updates.
Players, please
be very careful in purchasing or using
a new bat. Take this list to the store
with you.
Captains, please keep a copy of this list
and exceptions in your scorebook for reference
if someone brings a new bat to the field.
